15 month check up

Today I took Reese for her check up...2 trips in one week! 3 hours of my life that I will never get back! I went ok today, but we had to sit on the sick side for the first time because we have colds and a tiny fever. That felt yucky...for a 45 minute wait. Reese did have a touch of an ear infection which isn't bothering her and should go away on it's own. The shots went fine, she cried less than Abby did! That could be because I gave her the sucker before the shot! ;) She saw some in the diaper bag. She is in the 50th % for weight and almost off the charts in height like Abby. It's inevitable that I am going to be looking up at my girls by the time they are 15!

Abby had a check up yesterday, her first one in 18months. She did great, although insisted that she didn't need any "pokey medicine!" She did fine though, just focused on the big sucker she would get afterward! Actually we went to get ice cream too, it is across the street. She knows its close by when we exit off the interstate. It is so funny how observant little ones are to travel and landmarks...especially ones that involve sugar! Abby is in the 35th % for weight and 95th% for height. So ninety dollars later (93.25 if you include ice cream) I confirmed what I already knew. She's healthy, tall and skinny! She got one shot and was tested for iron, which was fine because the girl CAN put away some chicken nuggets!

What a weekend!

This was such a busy Holiday weekend! I am exhausted!!! Monday didn't come soon enough...yet it kinda sucks now that it's here! We had Turkey dinner at Kane's Grandma's house. It was so good. I ate way too much, but isn't that the norm? Friday I took the girls to the aquarium, by myself. I was kinda proud of that! They had the best time and so did I. I would love to do stuff like that all the time, but between school and work, we are way to busy. I pine everyday over being a plain Stay at home mom without the book work and added stress of owning our business. I love those days that give me a glimpse. I pray everyday that we will soon be able to hire a book keeper...Saturday we got ready all day for our football party. Kane even did yard work, I had to get that on camera because usually he would have his employees do it! He was slightly embarrassed that it was blog worthy, so he wouldn't look up for the picture!!! That that night we had some of my mommy friends and their hubbies over for football and chili! It was so much fun. We haven't entertained like that since Abby was born. We used to have people over very often...and I even cooked then too! Reese had a great time being loved on by all our friends and Miss Dena taught her the importance of being a good fan! Abby went to play at Annie's house and then went to Granny's for some football too! We had a late night AND of course that means an early morning. So we are so tired but I am glad we had fun and that I got the house cleaned. Dena said she has never seen it so neat, so I took pictures and I will blog that later!

Turkey Thirteen, 13 things that I am thankful for on this Turkey Day!

1. My Jesus, he make my life so much sweeter.
2. My Hubs, he's a good one.
3. Abby, she's one of a kind.
4. Reese, can't smooch her enough.
5. My friends, what would I do without them? They are the best.
6. Where I live, I love it here. It is quaint yet convieniant...and it's 85 degrees today!
7. Our family, they are all great and healthy what more could you ask for?
8. Tonight's dinner. I am thankful for this in advance...can't wait!
9. Abby and I went to the movies today, it was AWESOME. We cuddled and watched Bee movie. I LOVED it.
10. My stuff, I have some cool stuff. I know they are not necessities but they make things fun and I am thankful for them.
11. Our country, I am thankful we have the freedoms and protections that we do. I hope they last a long time.
12. My church, I love it. The people are fun and the music rocks. Plain and simple, it's fun and I look forward to it.
13. Holidays, slowing down for a day is great. I love to have a reason to spend time with my family, over eat ( ;) ) and just relax. Celebrating God's countless gifts to us? Just icing on the cake!

Other weekend fun.

I didn't find a lot at the consignment sale...I usually rack up. I only spent 26 dollars! I did find a Miss Spider book for Abby, a silky ducky hoodie for baby #3, a slide and this fish that Abby had to have. It was $6 and she rocked on it the whole time we were there. I usually get lots of smocked clothes...I'm not sure what the deal was this year...guess I'll have to shop at that Pink Crocodile! ;)
After a long sleepy day (post spin) we had mom's night out! I was so sleepy, I had 2 cokes at dinner and still managed to sleep just fine. We went to On the Border, which was ok but not great. Then we went Christmas shopping, well at least we were supposed to Christmas shop. I bought makeup and a new pair of jeans...guess I just wasn't in the Spirit yet. I think everyone else bought stuff for themselves too. I guess we will have to try that again with a shorter dinner maybe! Or dinner afterwards instead of before.

We Did It!

Saturday was Buffy's and my big day! The 2 hour class went great! It was a huge sense of accomplishment and I really feel that God annointed and blessed the time. We rode the equivalent of 33 miles which is like a half meter race and burned 1025 calories. I felt really great afterwards, was not sore but a little (ok a lot) sleepy around naptime. To my dismay, Abby hasn't napped the last 2 days. This picture is us half way through. I hope to do it again and was so glad to have my new spin shoes and heart rate monitor. The gagdets make it fun I think and the heart rate monitor is how I calculated the calories, so I can do that with other excercizing too!

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen FUN things going on right now!!!

1. Dena's new adventure...she's always in my top fun things!!!
2. Reese has been nodding yes, which is so much fun. I learned this when I asked her if she was stinky ( I already knew the answer!) and she nodded yes. I laughed out loud!
3. Abby is into princess everything...she insists on wearing her princess gear around the clock and is napping as Island Princess Barbie right now!
4. The CLC consignment sale is tomorrow at the girl's school. I took a bunch of stuff there today and it is so great to get rid of some clutter. I also find something fun there every year.
5. Mom's night out is Saturday night and we are going Christmas shopping. I have no clue what I need but will have fun going and eating Mexican with the girls!
6. Saturday morning is my spin endurance ride, it is a 2 hour class. I am a little nervous about this one. Hopefully I'll get a picture for you all BEFORE I get all sweaty!
7. The weather is still great here which is so nice. Yesterday it was 80 and today it is 70. I love the South.
8. I have been doing a fair amount of sewing, which is nice. I can't wait to finish something so I can show you!
9. Kane has decided, which some encouragement from his parents and Dena, that he should help out around the house. I think when I said it, it seemed like nagging but when at least 3 other people said he should help me it sunk in. He's starting slowly but his attitude has changed which is the best part.
10. Reese can now open doors, we have levers and she can reach them. I guess it's time to baby proof cause that piggie is ALWAYS in the pantry!
11. Tonight is date night!!!! I cannot wait to get out of the house!
12. Thanksgiving is next week...I can't wait for some dressing. I love it and will have to make it myself this year because my moms not cooking. The girls only have one day of school next week...how am I supposed to get anything done? I guess teachers have to cook too!
13. TV, one constant pleasure right now. There is always something new to watch. If only I could watch without folding laundry or exercising at the same time...a mommy's work is NEVER done!

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things that frustrate me right now...

1. I am really tired all of the time, mostly because I keep staying up too late and some because of stress.
2. I am sooooo tired of eating out. Reese has been testing her new found vocal chords and it gets old and EXPENSIVE after awhile. It takes so much extra time to cook though: plan, shop, cook, clean. It's been taking a toll on my waistline too.
3. I have been overindulging in cokes again. It started on the cruise...that's what I get huh?!
4. I have been too busy to blog. I have managed to put my own posts in every now and then but have not had much time to look and comment at others. I have comment guilt.
5. The toys in my house are out of control. None of them are where they go or with all their parts. Its hard to organize them because Bible Study nursery is in my playroom and other caregivers don't put them back either...why bother.
6. I am so distracted that I am finding it hard to meet with God. I can't concentrate, even at our first Wednesday worship service last night which is my favorite service. I can't stop thinking about myself and what people are wearing etc. I drives me crazy. I may need a blindfold.
7. I started a new Bible study in the mornings, which I thought would be awesome with childcare. It is REALLY difficult to concentrate with all of the kid stuff and noise. I guess the playrooms not far enough away!
8. I saw ANOTHER toy recall this morning. When swallowed, it reacts like a date rape drug and induces a coma in children. REALLY?! I feel like I need to take all toys to the dump, but what would I do then? Satan is attacking our babies, our treasures with our own love of stuff. That sucks.
9. My brand new car has a dinged and dented bumper because someone else driving, ( I won't mention any names) backed into TWO different things last week.
10. Abby has had some potty accidents in the last week, including pooping in her pullup FOUR times. Really? I thought we were past that. I think it might have been behavioral....
11. Which leads me to the next one. I haven't spent enough time with Abby lately. Her behavior and mood are strongly influenced by the quality time I spend with her, This is so hard and makes everything else a little more stressful AND makes me feel guilty.
12. My 7 year old dog is no longer house trained. He goes at will and we have had to lock him up when we leave. Which also make me feel guilty because his life sucks as it is since the babies have come. I know he can do better but he is stubborn and chooses to do it his way. At least Abby can spot it now, she tells me when she finds it. I am afraid of the day when Reese finds it first!
.

Play Time!

Yesterday, Annie came to play while Dena took care of some bidness. We had the best time. The girls play so well together and had the most fun. They loved dressing up and we also played outside and did some art time. I enjoyed a reason not to work or go to the YMCA and really liked just staying at home. I think I could do 3, although if one of them is a baby it would be harder!

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things that I brought back from the cruise!
1. Fun pictures, I am so glad that I bought a new camera!
2. Pretty toes, I got a pedicure and it was really great. It was one of my favorite parts.
3. Clean workout clothes...there were no spin classes so I didn't bother doing anything else.
4. A tan! I hope it lasts a while, an tan in the winter will be great.
5. Surcies for Abby.
6. No cash whatsoever, I took $170! I came home with none.
7. Souvenir cups. My frozen drinks came in these and I thought they might be fun in Abby's play kitchen.
8. Smocking, I am almost ready to put 2 dresses together. Abby needs them so I am glad that I got so much work done!
9. Elemis Moisture Melt, I bought this in the spa to put on my feet. It was pricey but has transformed my feet. I also like that the smell reminds me of the spa in the cruise.
10. A big cell phone bill, I'm guessing. It worked but was on roam, which costs more. With talking, texting and emails...I'm not looking forward to this bill!
11. A bunch of laundry...I just took it out of the suitcase this morning. It went straight ti=o the washer.
12. Sand, it was everywhere. It is a really coarse sand, unlike our beaches here. It was really hard to get off. It was stuck in our hair and hard to get out of those hard to reach places.
13. 5 pounds...I know I said that the food wasn't good, but somehow I managed to gain 5 lbs!!! I will say that we made up for the lack of good food with the abundance of bread and butter...at every meal. And then there's the coke...not a usual splurge for me. I am going to have to wean off of it again. Oh well, it was worth it!
