Last night we went to the Silver Ball, hosted by the Cotillian Club here in town. Usually it is a debutante ball to present young women to society (it's a Southern thing) but this year, there were no debs. So instead of ballgowns it was cocktail attire. This means it was WAY more fun! I haven't been since my sister's debut, 8 years ago maybe? I'm older now and many of my very good friends were there...so it was SOOOOOO much fun! Really, LOTS of fun. I even stopped by the local jewelers ;) to choose some bling to borrow...that was very much fun too, I don't want to give it back and am wearing it right now!!! Hahaha, I can't wait to go again next year!

Here are some pictures from Abby's Christmas party at school. They sang some Christmas songs and shook jingle bells, it was so cute! She had tons of fun and ate tons of yummy food. She even hit her friend's leftovers!
The other day I saw Abby with a postcard writing a letter to Santa, precious! I wrote it down to remember it. "Dear Hoho, pleased to meet you, and I miss you, and I wuv you. And I wuv you so much, Abby

Today we went to see HoHo, which is what the girls call Santa. Abby will actually correct me and say, "No, mama I call Santa HoHo!" We got there a little early and waited in line a little more than an hour. It was pretty chilly and the girls ran around and played while I waited. We were pretty close to the front actually, I think it takes so long because people can't get their kids to smile. It is free also so there are lots of people there. My girls did beautifully, I was stunned and Santa's helpers were too. We were in and out in less than two minutes. They smiled and Abby told him she wanted a sewing machine (glad that's on order!)Reese shrugged her shoulders when he asked her, which is so fine with me given she didn't cry and willingly hopped in his lap and gave him a hug! The same Santa has been doing it for years, maybe since I was in middle school. He was the fedex guy then at my parents store and his beard is real and he is so sweet. He comes out before it starts to say hi to all the kids. I think that's great so they're not stunned to walk in the picture cubby! It was so much fun and we had a great day! The Christmas Spirit is starting to rise up...but I still refuse to put ornaments on the tree! Your Christmas cards will have to do for now!

Tonight we went with our friends, Kelly, Abby and Elizabeth, to the Smocking Guild Christmas Party and fashion show tonight. I'm not officially a member but wanted to see what it was like and have a little holiday sewing fun! Although the girls were rather rambuncious (they banged on the piano during the fashion show!) we had such a good time! They ate they're own weight in cookies and I got to see some beautiful projects! What a fun night. They left in their jammies and watched Madagascar all the way home.

We went to the town tree lighting last night. It was so cold but the girls had so much fun. Lot's of the girls' friends were there and they had the best time running and chasing beneath the lit trees.

Here are the Christmas outfits that I have been working on. I made one for each of the girls so that they would have two matching sets. They turned out very well I think and I used my new serger a ton on both projects. A serger is an awesome sewing tool...I consider it a necessity now. The green one I finished tonight, I suspect that Reese's is too short, that is the hazard of making a new pattern for the first time. I probably will make pants for the short one and stick it on Abby instead.
I know the blog has been kind of sewing project heavy lately...but really that's all I have been doing. Everything else has been nothing special. Preschool, work, chores...and it's been unseasonably cold here so we have been mostly inside. I started out sewing more to save some money on the girl's clothes, but I really don't think it's too much cheaper. They don't need anymore clothes, but I just keep sewing! It's compulsive, really.

Here are pictures from Kane's trip. He had a great time and survived six days as a single parent! We had fun but are so glad to have daddy back!!! I love the orange hat, he got it at wal-mart for two bucks because it was so cold. They got 17th in the tournament, but didn't fish one of the days because the water was so rough. People broke their boats all over the place. I think he was a little dissapointed because he was 1/2 pound away from a money prize but he had a good time. And he didn't spend any money because he spent less than his last tournament winnings on the trip! That's even better.

Last week Abby had her first field trip to the pumpkin patch. I went too and we had so much fun. We also did a little trick or treating. I am not completely sold on the idea but it seemed like so much fun. We just went to family houses and ate candy till we were sick! The girls ate candy alllll day because they brough home treats from school. It was fun!
