A Poopsident

So, today we went to chick fil a for lunch...again. It was a pleasant time, until I went to take Reese out of the high chair for a diaper change before she hit the playground. Let's just say, she never made it to the playground. It was out of her diaper, on her dress, coat, tights and the high chair itself. Thank God the high chair had wheels and I could roll her straight to the tiny, two stall bathroom. Thank God she was not on the playground yet! Thank God my friend Lynn just happened to be there to help! I had just enough wipes to get the poop up, but not enough for Reese to smell clean. She had to leave, in our 50 degree weather, wearing only a diaper. She went straight into the tub when we got home. Thank God, once again, that they are sleeping...and I can "relax" with a coke and my blogging. When will I figure out that it is sooo much easier to saty home? Oh well, at least it didn't happen on the couch!

Oh my! Glad you had some help!! Good thing you had wipes because public bathrooms are ga-ross!

My kids never had one of those accidents out in public - Thank goodness, just at home when we could put Katelyn right into the tub.
Mari had this problem with Andy when she was at church and Cheri had it with Halle while we were on vacation and eating at a restaurant. I guess it's all part of parenting!

Oh My! Why do blowouts only happen in public places?!?

I feel your pain. As Terri said - I had it happen when Andy was a baby. It was the first time I took him to church. I had him dressed so cute and wanted to show him off. It wasn't meant to be. The blowout happened shortly after church started. Since I was holding him, I was also covered. I had to walk out of church trying to hold my dress, so nothing ran off it. We headed home and to the tub! Of course - he is now 19, but I still remind him of what he put me through. You can remind Reese of this later too!

Wow...your experience brings back all the fun of Addy's young days. HaHa. She gets REALLY carsick and it took me a really long time to learn that I HAVE to take extra clothes with us wherever we go.

I'm glad you were able to take the highchair to the bathroom!

That's such a nightmare. When we were in Russia adopting Arianna- she had terrible diarrhea- I couldn't take her anywhere without having problems. The airplane ride home was a real joy too!

Yikes! Yuck! So glad you had a friend there to help! Missed the gang at playgroup -- it was cold and lonely and we left after about 5 chilly minutes!

Oh yuck! This suimilar thing happened to me once when my nephew was about 1 1/2 or 2, Landen wasn't even born at that time. We were at Target, he was in the seat in the cart and I noticed that the floor was wet around us, and slightly discolored. This was the one and only time I left the dieaper bag in the car. I picked Spence up a little and it was a flood of nastiness coming out of him. I had to grab a pack of diapers and wipes hauled butt to the family restroom, stripped him down, threw his clothes in the garbage, canged his diaper after I thuroughly washed him down with wipes, took him over to the baby clothes section in just a diaper , all while people are just staring at me, (and I wasn't even his mother!) put new clothes on him, rip the tags off and go pay for things that I didn't even plan on purchasing...... that sucked.
