Here are two more recent projects. The first was inspired by a sample in my fave store. The second was inspired by the fabric. It is so different and I had to do something with it. I will say that I have not found another person who thinks its nearly as cute as I do! My friend Elisa gave me inspiration and lots of help on a style I've never made before. It was a learning process and I would love to make another one...after I buy a serger! I had to zig zag what seamed like miles of seams! Thanks Elisa! I can't wait for Abby to wear it!

We went to a great party this past weekend! It was our friend Jahnz's birthday. It was a monster party and the kids (parents) made monster costumes and then they had a monster parade! We had tons of fun. It was chilly, we had to break out our jackets for the first time!

I have been sewing a lot in the last few weeks. Partly because of Abby's need for clothes and partly because of our new budget...and mostly because it's fun! The apple pants outfit came first. I made Reese some pants but shortened a bishop to make her a shirt for it. I decided to make the a-line dress to wear over the apple shirt so it's more versitile, the apple aplique is a pocket. As long as I had to line it...I figured why not make it reversible. So I added the whale applique and ric-rac, I actually like it better than the apple. The whale applique I got here. The purse pattern there is one of my next projects! Can't wait!
This outfit is a geometric bishop top with blue pants and flowery ruffles and pockets. It was a very quick project. The unfinished looking one I smocked at the beach this past weekend. It is a blue and brown check with sanddollars smocked on it. It will have long cuffed sleeves and hopefully be completed next week because I got a new stash of fabric today! I can't wait to get started on it.

This past weekend we went to the beach for some relaxation and to celebrate Kane's birthday. We had a great time and they're were plenty of friends to play with/ It did rain the entire weekend (and was sunny and 80 degrees Monday morning!) but we managed to get a little time on the beach in between showers. It was so nice to get away from our home full of things to do and I actually smocked an entire outfit in the weekend! I can't wait to put it together. Also very interesting, the girls slept in the same bed! It went really well for the first time I thought! Reese even napped in the strange, not dark, and not particularly quiet room that WASN'T locked! I was impressed. When there is another baby in this house they will have to share a room...I think they are gonna like it...in a year or TWO!

I went in to check on Reeser during her nap and turn on her fan and this is what I found today! She knocked over her floor lamp, tore it up and then fell asleep on the floor. Nice! Looks like I'm going to be in the market for a new shade!...and maybe some restraints!
